Golden milk (turmeric latte)
Golden milk is a warming, spicy drink from Ayurvedic cuisine that is becoming increasingly popular around the world. Its base is turmeric, which gives the drink its characteristic golden-yellow colour.

Ingredients for 12 servings
2.4 l milk (cow’s milk or plant-based alternatives such as oat, almond, coconut, or soya milk)
3 Tablespoon(s) turmeric powder (alternatively: 5 cm fresh turmeric root, grated)
1 Piece(s) of fresh ginger (approx. 3 cm, grated) or 3 teaspoons ginger powder
1 Teaspoon(s) cinnamon
3 Pinch(es) black pepper (enhances the effect of turmeric)
3 Tablespoon(s) honey or agave syrup (optional)
3 Tablespoon(s) coconut oil (optional)

Preparation
Preparation
1. Warm the milk in a saucepan (do not bring to the boil).
2. Stir in the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, and, if desired, coconut oil.
3. Allow to infuse over a low heat for a few minutes, stirring constantly so the flavours can develop.
4. Remove from the heat and sweeten to taste with honey or agave syrup.
5. Pour through a fine sieve into glasses to remove any ginger or turmeric pieces.
6. Enjoy warm!
