Green smoothies are true classics when it comes to healthy eating. They can be endlessly reinvented with regional fruits and vegetables, making them a straightforward, nutrient-rich addition to everyday life. This basic recipe can be easily customised with your favourite ingredients.
Ingredients
Ingredients for 12 servings
6 Piece(s) ripe bananas
6 Piece(s) apples or pears (depending on availability)
6 Handful of fresh spinach, Swiss chard, kale or another leafy green
1.5 l water or unsweetened plant milk (e.g. oat, soya or almond milk)
juice of 3 lemons or limes
Some fresh ginger (optional)
a few leaves of fresh mint (optional)
3 Tablespoon(s) honey or agave syrup (optional)
ice cubes (optional)

12 Piece(s) 350 ml bottles
Blender or hand blender

Preparation
Preparation
1. Wash the fruit and leafy greens thoroughly. Core the apples or pears and roughly chop, peel the bananas and break into pieces.
2. Place all ingredients into a blender or tall container.
3. Add water or plant milk, and lemon or lime juice.
4. Optionally, add ginger, mint or a sweetener.
5. Blend everything on high speed until smooth and creamy.
6. Pour into glasses or bottles and enjoy fresh.
Tips for adjustments
- Depending on the region and season, other fruits can be used instead of apples or pears.
- For a creamier texture, add avocado or soaked cashew nuts.
- For extra refreshment, pop a few ice cubes into the blender.
